About The Opportunity 

Curamed is seeking an experienced, independent, and highly motivated Principal Scientist to
join our in vivo/in-vitro preclinical and translational team. The successful candidate will lead
and oversee in vivo studies conducted either in-house or externally through a contract research
organization. The role will have responsibility for the study design, execution, and
interpretation of experiments, including efficacy, biomarker, and PK/PD analyses.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with relevant in vivo murine models
and a variety of animal handling procedures and techniques such as dosing, necropsy, ex vivo
tissue dissociation as well as in vitro cell culture, multiparameter flow cytometry and
immunoassay analysis experience. This individual should have the desire to learn and apply
new experimental methodologies and possess the drive to execution, experimental rigor, and
scientific curiosity.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design and execute in vivo murine pharmacology studies to assess molecules in
    Curamed’s therapeutic development pipeline.

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise study execution at external Contract Research
    Organizations (CROs).

  • Write Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols and ensure
    compliance with animal facility policies and regulations.

  • Collaborate closely with program teams to seek input on key in vivo pharmacology
    studies and decisions

  • Interpretation of in vivo pharmacology experiments, including efficacy, biomarker, and
    PK/PD analyses

  • Contribute to study reports, potential regulatory filings, and project presentations

  • Maintain excellent written documentation of completed experiments

Preferred qualifications and past experience: 

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, or related fields with a minimum of 8+
    years post graduate experience, or BS/MS with 12+ years of experience in industry

  • Extensive hands-on experience and familiarity with a variety of in vivo murine models
    including humanized mouse models.

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with tissue cell culture, basic immune cell
    assays, multiparameter FACS and bioanalytical assays.

  • A track record of success and experience in oncology research preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and pivot to support ongoing needs
